When ITM Software decided to embed best-of-breed
reporting into their product, they turned to Saama.
The Client:
ITM Software develops enterprise application software that enable the CIO and IT organization
to better manage the business of Information Technology.
The Challenge:
The business requirement from ITM Software demanded a robust analytics to be integrated
into their core product timely using off-the-shelf proven technologies. The challenge was to identify a ‘best-of-breed’ product to integrate seamlessly without affecting the end-user experience
of their product and in the shortest possible time.
The Solution:
Saama brought its extensive experience in business intelligence to the process of evaluating
the options, and identifying Business Objects as the optimal product to integrate with.
Leveraging its relationship with Business Objects, Saama facilitated and helped finalize the OEM relationship for ITM.
Working with ITM’s product team, a total of 60 individual reports
that would best meet their end-user requirements were developed for “out-of-the-box”
functionality. Saama created two Business Objects universes that would support the standard,
pre-designed reports (organized into 20 documents), as well as allow users to run ad-hoc reports.
The design and technology (WebI SDK, JSP version) approach to integrating
WebIntelligence, the web access module of Business Objects, ensured easy access
from within ITM’s product without requiring an additional log-in.
