Brocade Communication Systems
offers the industry's leading intelligent platform for networking storage.
Using their solutions, organizations can simplify the implementation of SANs, reduce
the total cost of ownership for data storage environments, and improve network and
application efficiency.
The Challenge:
Brocade was looking for a user friendly means of locating and accessing company
reports and related documents. They decided on using Business Objects Web Intelligence (WebI) software to build a business intelligence portal. The challenge
was to extend WebI functionality and usability to meet its specific requirements
including have a consistent look and feel with its intranet.
The Solution:
Saama designed and developed a custom dashboard to meet
the primary objective of personalized creation, easy categorization, and
secure access of reports and documents. The enhancements that made this
possible included:
A hierarchical structure as against the standard single level category schema.
Display aliases to allow categories with the same name.
Category management and hierarchy maintenance.
Search capability to include document descriptions and keywords.
Custom help pages.
In addition, additional security features enabled users
to publish documents to anyone as well as a password change feature on the
home page. Administrative capabilities to add announcements to the main page
were also provided.

The revised publishing capabilities allow users in Finance and Corporate
