Universe comparison can be for two/three universes showing them next to each other in two/three window panes. The differences are highlighted to ease analyzing the comparison. These objects are compared for differences based on the equity rules which can be explicitly defined.
There is an option to view either all the Universe objects or only different Universe objects. The interface provides drill down and drill up objects to enable detailed analysis.
User can drag and drop the objects following the move rule or can choose an option of auto-merging the differences while comparing universes.
UMT screen Shows the universe differences in tabular format.
The tabs are:
1) Classes and Objects Tab
Universe management involves tracking the changes in the universe. Major areas to go through the changes are the universe Objects i.e. Classes, Dimension Object, Detail Object and Measure Object. The Classes form the base of comparison followed by the Dimension Object, Detail Object and Measure Object.

2) Tables and Joins Tab
Tables and Joins can be different as a result of modifications on the universe. Here the table name is the base comparison and its joins as subsequent comparison elements.

3) Conditions Tab
Another majorly effected object in versioning of universe is the Condition Object. The difference in Condition Objects is shown Class–wise.
4) Contexts
Context contains of a bunch of Table Joins that together define a Context. Due to modification or addition of new Objects or Tables or Joins the context may differ in versioning of universes. The base of the difference can be base comparison of Context name and then by comparing joins it contains.

5) Hierarchies Tab
Redefining the analytical viewing by hierarchies may cause difference in versions. The base of the comparison of hierarchies is the hierarchy name and then its subsequent Dimension Objects.

6) Parameters
The parameters tab refers the Universe Parameters. The comparison will list universe parameter according the parameter tabs with the parameter options it provides.
