Saama Featured in Business Book The Strategic CIO

Saama customers reveal how they influence corporate strategy and communicate the business value of IT services

Campbell, Calif. — December 11, 2014 — Saama Technologies, Inc.,a leading pure-play data and analytics solutions and services company, is mentioned as a best-practice example highlighted in The Strategic CIO: Changing the Dynamics of the Business Enterprise, a book written by Phil Weinzimer. The author’s premise is that CIOs can better collaborate and align with company business units by leveraging information and technology to transform their IT organizations into strategic assets that can drive customer value, increases revenue, and enhance shareholder value. Saama is  included in the sixth chapter “How to Measure and Improve Business Value of IT Service” that states one of the biggest challenges facing CIOs today is to measure the value of IT and communicate that value to business leaders in a language they understand.

In the sixth chapter, Weinzimer tells of how Saama provides the ability to view a dashboard that can help CIOs portray data in more meaningful ways. One customer highlighted in the book needed visibility into health initiatives, budget forecasts, project roadmaps and other data sources that were unlinked or in some cases inaccessible. Weinzimer calls the resulting implementation of Saama’s solution “quite impressive” stating the customer experienced:

·       Reduced run & manage cost of maintaining engineering operations analytics by 50 percent

·       Increased speed of decision making by 33 percent

·       Improved financial clarity by providing visibility from an Initiative to Project level

·       Enabled confident decision making by leveraging a validated and trustable data-set

·       Provided faster time-to-value for operational excellence through automation

·       Interfaced with nine different data sources, validated, integrated and fed information into the Leadership dashboard

Saama customer Synopsys is also featured in the book highlighting how its CIO and Vice President of Information Technology worked with Saama to design and build a CIO Dashboard to provide a single-source to capture and analyze data and trends associated with financials, IT Expenses, operations, staff projects, and security. The CIO brings a weekly report of key data from the dashboard to executive staff meetings every week.

“Saama has always believed that data is key to optimizing business outcomes through high-value analytics,” says Sagar Anisingaraju, Chief Strategy Officer of Saama Technologies. “The enterprise today is empowered with the strategic advantage to maximize Big Data benefits without having to throw away legacy systems. We are able to help IT customers, like the ones mentioned in Phil Weinzimer’s book, realize their full potential and make them an extremely important asset to the mission of their organization’s growth, success and shareholder wealth.”

Saama has solutions that go beyond helping CIOs including, but not limited to: churn analytics, patient engagement analytics, fraud analytics, service analytics, clinical operations analytics, and customer buying pattern analytics.
